Everything we surround ourselves with has, at some point, been carried in a container. To me, the container is a universal form and a powerful metaphor, capable of holding both physical objects and intangible memories, stories, and emotions.

My fascination with containers began with the exhibition Andersen in Europe in 2005, shown at the Danish Cultural Institute in Hungary and later at CLAY Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark. The containers can be opened and are tied closed with a ribbon, each holding a short embroidered poem or a few carefully chosen words.
